This implies that social networking sites are central to the social and family life of girls. National Family Week commissioned the study, the results of which were based on 3,000 parents and 1,000 children aged eight to 15. Girls named the top three most important things in their lives as friends, family and Facebook, whereas 73% of boys identified family first and listed money above Facebook.<br />
